Athens Says Thank You on September 11th

Now in its third year, the “Athens Says Thank You” campaign is an opportunity for the citizens of Athens to recognize the contribution of our local Police and Fire Departments.
On September 11th Volunteers from ACCA and Evoshield delivered over 400 letters of thanks from elementary school students, senior volunteers, and clients of ACCA to 16 police and fire stations throughout Clarke County.

Thank you to our friends at Barnett Shoals Elementary, Fowler Drive Elementary, Gaines Elementary, JJ Harris Elementary, Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary, members of the Center For Active Living Plus program, and the volunteers of Senior Corps for helping us recognize all that our police and firefighters to for our community.

This initiative of the Senior Corps program would not have been possible without help of community volunteer and Marine Corps Veteran Lamar Hughston, Elise North, and the great team from Evoshield!
