Deliver Joy to Our Local Older Adults This Holiday Season!
For two decades, our “Be a Santa to a Senior” program has spread cheer to older adults in our community who could use some extra love during the holidays. This year, we’re inviting you to join the celebration by adopting a senior or volunteering at our wrapping party. It’s the perfect way to give back and experience the magic of the season firsthand.
Adopting a senior is easy: simply click the link below to select an ornament online or visit one of our host locations to pick up a paper ornament. Each ornament represents a senior who could use some extra cheer this year.
Once you’ve chosen your senior, shop for their gift, and be sure to drop it off unwrapped at ACCA or one of our host sites by December 5th. And don’t forget to join us for our wrapping party on December 10 from 4–8 PM! Together, we’ll wrap gifts, enjoy festive treats, and celebrate the joy of giving. Bring Holiday Joy to Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Families This Season!
Since 2006, our Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRG) program has been dedicated to supporting grandparents and other relative caregivers who are raising children in their families. This holiday season, you can help bring an extra dose of love and happiness to these families by donating gifts through our GRG Holiday Program.
To adopts a grandchild, select a child’s wish list online, shop for their desired items, and drop them off at the Athens Community Council on Aging (ACCA) by December 6. Donations can be brought to 135 Hoyt Street, Athens, GA, during our collection hours: November 26–December 6, from 9 AM to 3 PM. Be sure to securely attach your name and the family’s number to each gift.

Lace up your sneakers and get ready for the Give Thanks 8K this Thanksgiving!
Enjoy family events, fellowship, and community gratitude at The Give Thanks 8k presented by Massey Law starting November 28th with the 8k at 8:30 and the Kids Fun Run at 10.
Join us before sitting down for the big meal and race to support the Athens Community Council on Aging and ensure our community’s older neighbors have healthy and nutritious meals!

retroProm 2024 was a BLAST!
Thank you so much to everyone who came to retroProm 2024! We loved seeing
everyone’s sick outfits and smooth moves as we grooved out to the Guardians of the Jukebox.
Because of you, this year, we raised over $75,000! All funds go directly towards supporting our community’s older adults by helping us provide transportation, meal assistance, caregiver support, wellness classes, employment opportunities, social activities and so much more.
