Grandparents Day 2019

Throughout the country, Grandparents and other relative caregivers provide a safe and loving home to their grandchildren or other children in their care. More than 7.8 million children in the United States live in a household headed by a grandparent or relative caregiver.

Since 2006, ACCA has supported relative caregivers through the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program with such needs as basic necessities, nursing, support, nutrition, parent education, and referrals to resources that best fit the family’s needs. Over the years, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren has been one of the only support systems for many relative caregivers in our community.

Today, we celebrate and honor the grandparents and relative caregivers in our program and throughout the country. Happy Grandparents Day! Thank you for providing a safe and loving home to the child in your care. We think you are doing something grand today and everyday!
