AmeriCorps Seniors is a national volunteer program administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service that engages people age 55 and up in opportunities that tap into their skills and experience to cost-effectively address vital community needs. In Northeast Georgia, the AmeriCorps Seniors program is sponsored by The Athens Community Council on Aging.

Senior Companion volunteers are paired with older adults and individuals with disabilities. Volunteers provide in-home companionship, can assist with transportation and light chores, and provide caregiver respite.
