Age Well. Live Well.

The Center at ACCA, formerly the Athens Community Council on Aging, is a nonprofit community hub helping adults and families age and live well in northeast and east Georgia.

We believe aging is not a decline. It is a dynamic and powerful chapter of life. At ACCA, we are reframing aging, not as something to fear, but as something to celebrate, expand, and live fully.

Whether you are navigating retirement, caregiving for someone you love, adapting to health changes, or simply looking for connection and purpose, you belong here.

Reframing Aging

Reframing aging means changing the narrative.

From decline to growth.
Aging is continued evolution shaped by resilience and possibility.

From isolation to belonging.
Community connection is essential for wellbeing and purpose.

From limitation to expansion.
There is still learning. Still contribution. Still adventure.

From service to partnership.
We do not serve older adults from a distance. We build community with them, honoring their voice and lived experience.

Aging touches everyone. When we build spaces that empower and connect people in later life, our entire community grows stronger.

Our Core Values

Our work is guided by values that shape how we show up every day.

Imagination and Innovation

We embrace change and seek creative ways to increase our impact and value in the community.

Kindness and Respect

We act with genuine care and concern for one another, the people we serve, and our organization.

Quality and Commitment

We hold ourselves to high standards and strive to exceed expectations in our programs, services, and partnerships.

Generosity and Gratitude

We believe generosity changes lives. We are grateful for the time, trust, and resources shared by our community.

Learning and Sharing

We are committed to lifelong growth and discovery. We believe in the power of stories and shared experiences to connect and inspire.

Who We Support

We support individuals and families navigating the aging journey in all its forms.

  • Adults seeking connection, engagement, and purpose
  • Family caregivers
  • Individuals living with dementia or memory changes
  • People navigating Medicare benefits and long-term care decisions
  • Community members looking for trusted information and meaningful relationships

Aging is not defined by a number. It is a shared human experience that unfolds differently for everyone. At The Center at ACCA, there is no single timeline and no single story. There is only the next chapter, and the support and community to live it well.

Our Commitment

At The Center at ACCA, aging is not about stepping back. It is about staying visible, engaged, and connected. It is about learning, creating, traveling, and contributing. It is about having access to the support you need to live well.

This is not the end of the story. It is a reinvention.

And everyone is invited.

It’s your time to thrive.

Wherever you are in your aging journey, you’ll find connection, support, and a place to belong at The Center at ACCA.
