The AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program at The Center at ACCA connects volunteers age 55 and older with students who can benefit from extra encouragement and support in school.
Foster Grandparents build meaningful relationships with students while helping them learn, grow, and feel supported.
How Foster Grandparents Help
Volunteers serve in school settings and may provide:
- Academic support
- Mentoring and encouragement
- Social and emotional support
- Consistent one-on-one connection
Become a Foster Grandparent
Adults 55 and older can use their time and experience to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life. Eligible volunteers may receive a small stipend and other benefits to help offset the cost of volunteering.
