The AmeriCorps Seniors Senior Companion Program at The Center at ACCA connects volunteers age 55 and older with older adults and homebound individuals who could benefit from companionship and light assistance.
Through regular visits and meaningful relationships, Senior Companions help people stay connected and continue living independently in their communities.
How Senior Companions Help
Support may include:
- Companionship and conversation
- Light meal preparation and household tasks
- Occasional transportation
- Help with small, everyday tasks
Senior Companions do not provide medical or personal care.
Become a Senior Companion
Adults 55 and older can make a difference in their community while building meaningful relationships with others. Eligible volunteers may receive a small stipend and other benefits to help offset the cost of volunteering.
